God's Power at Work in the Suffering Church
God is working around the world, even in places where Christians face severe suffering for the sake of the gospel. Here are two inspiring stories reported by a missionary in a North African country.
AHMED'S DREAM
As tens of thousands of people from this North African country come to faith in Jesus, terrorists from a major religion have also increased their violent activities. What is giving so many people from this major religion the courage to put their faith in Jesus Christ in spite of increased threats from religious fundamentalists? The Couple at Cracker Barrel

The transition from secular employment to becoming a missionary is seldom easy.
I was a waitress at a Cracker Barrel restaurant in Springfield, Missouri, while working on my missionary appointment. My manager had been helpful in working with me during the transition time, but when I took off the two weeks for AGWM candidate orientation I had to quit my job. However, the manager did tell me after I got back I could fill in some if needed.
The next several days after I returned none of the waitresses wanted to take off, even on Saturday, and I got discouraged.
Sunday morning as I was driving to church I prayed, “God, I am feeling so anxious inside because all my bills are due and I don’t have the money to pay them. I don’t know whether or not to tell the congregation today I need help right now.”
I decided not to tell the church, but just prayed that people would see that I was going through tough financial times and was trusting in Him to supply my needs.
