Pastor Dead for 30 Hours Raised Back to Life

Tue, 28 Oct 2008 - 8:57 AM CST

Miracles still happen. This is an inspiring story from a missionary in a sensitive country.

Three years ago Noel, a young national pastor, suffered a severe heart attack and was taken to the hospital. During the next three days, he suffered two more attacks.

Doctors rushed to Noel's side during the third episode but found they could do nothing to save him. Two doctors pronounced him dead and signed the slip to send him to the mortuary. Before the chief doctor would sign the final paperwork, however, he asked the others to try shocking the heart into beating again. Nothing worked. Noel was still dead, and now most of his ribs had been broken by the paddles used to stimulate his heart. Once again, the doctors pronounced Noel dead.

In the meantime, the chief doctor went home, so they placed Noel in a holding room until the paperwork could be signed the next day. That evening Bible college students and national believers gathered to pray for a miracle. Since most of them did not realize Noel was already dead, they prayed for life. And life is what God gave!

Noel came back to life 30 hours after he was pronounced dead. The Lord showed Noel many things while he was in heaven, and then sent him back to fulfill his life's purpose.

After surgery to repair his ribs, Noel was wheeled into the room where he had died. The patients in the hospital room had witnessed Noel's death and now his resurrection. Many came to him with fruit and flower offerings in honor of the miracle. The doctors who had worked on him were Buddhists, but they all agreed they had just seen a miracle.
